Thank you for visiting my website.

I've been the Liberal Democrat Member of the European Parliament for the East of England since 1999.

I work all year round representing the region which covers the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk, including Bedford borough, Central Bedfordshire, Luton, Peterborough, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock.

This website includes information about my work in the region, visiting important local sites, campaigning and speaking to constituents. It will also keep you updated with my work in the European Parliament; you can follow my votes, newest publications and watch the European Parliament live.

If you'd like to hear about what I've been doing as your MEP, you can sign up to receive a copy of eastern Agenda.

If there are any issues I can help you with, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Congratulations to Ed and Russell who were married on July 5.

The couple were joined by their friends and families to celebrate their special day at the weekend.

Liberal Democrats were the first party to support Equal Marriage for all couples and we are delighted that this is now law.

From 10 December 2014 couples already in civil partnerships can convert to marriage.

Today Nick Clegg announced £12 billion of Growth Deals to create jobs, build homes and boost local economies up to 2020.

Growth Deals will mean every local area in England will have more power over the money they raise and spend and more control over their own economic destiny.

Across the country they are expected to lead to work on over 150 roads, 150 housing developments, 20 stations, as well as to provide small business support services in every part of England and significant investment in skills training, as well as work to improve educational attainment and to get more people from welfare to work.
